How to make a brat GIF

1. Type your words. Each word, letter or line becomes a frame, depending on the animation you choose.
2. Pick an animation. The preview on the phone loops so you can see it straight away.
3. Set the speed. Frame time is how long each frame stays on screen; Pause at end holds the last frame before the GIF loops.
4. Choose the size and quality, then press Create GIF. It takes a few seconds, and then a download button appears.

The five animations

Getting the right file size

GIF is an old format, and big GIFs get heavy fast. These settings keep yours easy to send:

• Small (360px) is plenty for chats and reactions. Large (600px) is for places where the GIF is shown big.
• Fewer frames means a smaller file. Word and Flash are lighter than Typing.
• Blur adds soft in-between shades. A lower blur gives a slightly smaller, crisper GIF.
• GIFs are limited to 150 frames here, which keeps them quick to create and share.
